Reach Ministry Update

Hi Everyone,
Over the last three months we have served between 50-70 families per week with all that our Lord provided, and of course, His Word. We give God all the praise and glory!!
Since it’s been a little while since my last update, there have been many events that have taken place.
Since March 9th, we’ve been partnering with the Temecula/Murrieta Rescue Mission and have had the great blessing of having a mobile medical unit each Wednesday for folks to get medical attention who otherwise would go without any care at all. With this partnership, we have started going on Saturday to a farm in Rainbow to plant, nurture and eventually harvest vegetables and fruit to be distributed throughout the community to those in need. Everyone can attend, to include children. In addition to the above opportunities, the Mission has begun purchasing homes for families who are in need. Currently there are four homes which have been occupied by local families, and more homes will be purchased as funds permit.
We meet on the first Saturday of the month as a group to box up food in readiness for each week’s need.
We reached out to the seniors in the community in April and had the first annual Luau with these wonderful folks. Young and old alike enjoyed an afternoon of great food, Hawaiian entertainment, fellowship and dancing. We look forward to doing more events with the seniors.
Our next trip to Union Rescue Mission will be on 05-27-11 through 05-28-11, and we will meet in the church parking lot at 2:30pm, departing at 3:00pm, and return at approx 5:00 pm on Saturday. This is our OVERNIGHT trip, where we will be staying on the roof of the mission, and ministering to the homeless in the evening before settling in. We will be serving lunch the next day.
There will be a short meeting this Tuesday 03-24-11 at 6pm in the upper room of the church for those signed up to go.
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, June 18, 2011 Potluck at the Beach!!! Come enjoy fun, sun, sand, and good food at the beach aboard CampPendleton. All families, couples, singles are invited. More info to follow!!
